Western Queensland MHSPAOD Joint Regional Plan Lived and Living Experience, Consumer, Family, Carer and Kin Consultations

Western Queensland Primary Health Network is inviting people across Western Queensland to help shape future mental health suicide prevention and alcohol and other drug (MHSPAOD) joint regional health planning.

We want to hear directly from people who:

  • have personal lived or living experience of accessing, trying to access, or choosing not to access health and wellbeing support

  • support, care for, or are close to someone who has experienced health or wellbeing challenges

  • experience barriers because of distance, cost, culture, disability, neurodivergence, alcohol or other drug use, suicidal distress, housing circumstances, gender, sexuality, age or other intersecting experiences.

You do not need professional experience, knowledge of the health system, a diagnosis or a formal carer role. You do not need to share personal details you would prefer to keep private.

Consultations will explore what matters to people locally, what is working, where the gaps are and what needs to change.

Participation is voluntary. Participants will be remunerated in recognition of the time, knowledge, and expertise they contribute. This reflects WQPHN’s commitment to meaningful engagement and valuing lived and living experience as essential evidence in regional planning.

Submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee selection. We will aim to include a diverse range of people, communities and experiences from across each region.

If you have any questions or require assistance with registration please contact Katie Shields (Lived and Living Expereince Coordinator, WQPHN) at katie.shields@wqphn.com.au.
