About the Advisory Body
The AITO Advisory Body will play a vital role in strengthening community input and improving aged care outcomes across Western Queensland. Members will:
Share lived-experience insights about ageing in remote, rural, and very remote communities
Advise WQPHN on priorities, challenges, and opportunities for older people
Help guide place-based service improvements and support more culturally appropriate, community-led approaches
Ensure local perspectives are embedded in planning, commissioning, and evaluation activities
Who we are looking for
We welcome applications from people across Western Queensland who bring diverse lived experience, including:
Older people living in remote, rural, and very remote communities
Carers or family members supporting older people
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members
People who have accessed aged care services (Home Care, Residential Aged Care Homes, Healthy Ageing programs, or other supports)
Community members passionate about improving ageing outcomes locally
No previous advisory experience is required, just a willingness to share your experience, represent your community, and participate respectfully in group discussions.
